Volunteer Gymnastics Mentor Instructor positions available to assist with gymnastics classes!
• Do you have a passion for gymnastics?
• You don't have any qualifications but willing to obtain?
• You will start as a volunteer for a minimum of 12 weeks
We are currently looking for up and coming gymnastic professionals to join the team at Caringbah YMCA.
What we will do for you:
We will assist you in gaining your gymnastics qualification through a 12 week program within the Y, part of this program you will be exempt from your beginners (A step ahead of everyone else).
All we ask for is passion drive and commitment, and the rest will fall in place.
What you will gain:
This will all depend on you! We will be willing to offer successful mentees a role as an Assistant Gymnastics Instructor and furthermore the path to gain your full gymnastics qualifications which would then lead to a career in a very successful industry!
About the Program:
Running over approximately 12 weeks the program is designed to support & challenge the individual through a holistic approach to personal development. Written & verbal communication skills, an ability to work independently and confidently, the ability to interact on many levels and an opportunity to explore and create will be some of the core areas covered. The program is designed to be an enjoying and beneficial experience for mentors and participants alike. The relationship and sharing of knowledge will build character and resource streams for all involved.
To be successful, you must be:
• Open and receptive to new ways of learning and trying new ideas.
• Able to accept feedback and act upon it
• Able to communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Know when to ask for help
You're Obligations for a successful completion of this program:
• Complete YMCA pre course workbook and online generic and gymsport specific course prior to attending intermediate face to face
• Attend all YMCA scheduled lessons / coaching sessions / workshops.
• Read and understand YMCA Coaches Handbook
• Complete all YMCA assigned homework tasks.
• Complete all YMCA ongoing evaluation forms.
• Accept that the program is completely volunteer for the participants (minimum 12 Weeks)

Recreation
Our Recreation Team is a close-knit community of energetic people-people, with a passion for staying active and helping others. From our Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers, to our Instructors and Coordinators, the team are responsible for transforming our 24 Recreation Centres into warm, inclusive and safe spaces – providing access to health, fitness and recreation opportunities for those who need it most.
