We are currently seeking a Wet Deck Supervisor to join the team at Gungahlin Leisure Center, someone who is available to work various hours and is available over the weekend and weekday afternoons.


About the role:


The Swim School Supervisor will be required to have a firm knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA Swimming Lesson and other aquatic programs. Swim School Supervisors maintain and commit to ongoing personal and professional development in Swimming Lessons and administration. They are dedicated professionals who are role models and mentors to Swimming Teachers and will ensure YMCA Swimming Lesson members are gaining maximum benefit and enjoyment from the services provided.


The position requires an energetic, motivated person who is professional and dedicated to aquatic program delivery. The role will involve on-going training and supervision of all swimming teachers, as well as safety management of pool deck. You will also need to have the flexibility to get in the water and teach when required. 


What you will need to have:

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water safety OR equivalent  
  • Current CPR
  • Senior First Aid
  • Prior teaching experience of atleast 1 year 
  • Passion about teaching people how to swim
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience appraising students' swimming progression
