Whether you’re a Beach Lover, Return to Work Parent, Student, Educator, First Jobber, Retiree, or transitioning careers; if you bring energy and passion, there are so many possibilities for you at the Y.
Right now, the Y NSW is looking for aspiring Learn-to-Swim Instructors to join our friendly Y teams at our Ku-ring-gai facility.
We’ll train you up and support you to get qualified so you can make a difference to your community and your career.
Being able to swim is one of the most important skills a person can have. Our Learn-to-Swim Instructors change and save people’s lives by equipping them with the ability to swim confidently – it is a truly rewarding role.
As well as nurturing and encouraging future swim stars, our Instructors can plan a lesson well, follow that plan, all while keeping their eyes on up to five students at a time.
Our Instructors are splashtastic communicators – they know how to calm an anxious student and reassure a worried parent. You’ll hear a lot of laughter in their classes.
While our Instructors are teaching their students to be confident swimmers, they’re also looking out for their team members and ensuring hygiene is a top priority – keeping our students safe is a team effort.
Many of our Instructors have other commitments like study or family or are recently retired but enjoy making a difference in people’s lives. The Y NSW encourages and supports this by offering flexible working hours.
What we need from you:
- Passion for customer service and excellent communication skills
- A friendly and approachable manner
