Swim Instructor
Our Recreation Team is a vibrant, close-knit community of people who thrive on connection, movement, and making a difference. From Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers to Instructors and Coordinators, our team transforms 18 Recreation Centres into welcoming, inclusive, and safe spaces—offering health, fitness, and recreation opportunities to those who need them most.

We are now looking for Casual Swimming instructors to come join our teams at Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Laurieton and Kendall pools. You will come with a passion for the water and an ability to teach essential skills about swimming. You must be available for work on weekends as well as weekdays.

Our Swimming Instructors are a happy bunch, every day they are teaching young people the essential skill of swimming. They love seeing those big wide smiles each day, as the children splash around having fun, while gaining confidence and becoming safe in and around the water.

Our Swimming Instructors are the aquatic artistes training the next generation of swimming superstars. Every day, they lead safe, stimulating and always-fun lessons that build confidence and capability in developing young people. As a Swimming Instructor at The Y, you won’t just be a strong swimmer. Because you’ll also be a strong communicator, and a dynamic leader – motivating and educating our guests to build strong, active and safe behaviours in the water.

- CPR Certificate
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety License
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check (Paid by the Y)
