About your new role
Are you deeply committed and enthusiastic about working with young people, especially in demanding settings? Do you have experience working with at risk young people?
As a Youth Worker, your main responsibilities will involve leading various activities with the young people aged 12-24, creating and executing programs, and cooperating with local community partners including schools and families. Your goal will be to assist in the development and implementation of programs that cater to the distinctive needs of each community. These initiatives may include engaging in sport-based sessions, organizing skill-based workshops, and wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in consultations with at risk young people to comprehend their needs and aspirations.
- Innovate and implement programs that resonate with the community.
- Work closely with community partners to ensure impactful and inclusive programs.
- Organize and facilitate activities, workshops, and wellbeing programs.
What we would love you to have:
- Qualifications and experience in Youth Work, Community Services or related field
- Experience with assisting and supporting young people with complex issues, in group settings and one on one. E.g. Casework, assertive outreach
- Ability and passion to work independently, as well as in a team to motivate, empower and support young people
- Confidence in working with young people to develop meaningful initiatives on a local level
- Senior First Aid Certificate
