We have a rare opportunity for a driven Camping leader to come and lead the team at Camp Yarramundi to success. The opportunities are endless with this role. We are looking for a Camp Manager to lead this successful camp business through an exciting period of growth and redevelopment. About your new role:


As the Camping Manager you will be responsible for driving business and programs within an agreed operating camping budget while also ensuring compliance requirements are being met. You will be confident with financial and business planning and be able to demonstrate appropriate experience in these areas.
We are looking for a dynamic, natural born leader with significant management experience in the outdoor education industry to drive the success of our camp.
You will have an understanding of and experience in developing and delivering community-based recreation, wellbeing and activity-focused programs in the community. The successful candidate will also have the skills to manage, develop, inspire, and motivate staff in their site. You will come with a reputation for thinking strategically, with substantial commercial acumen. You will participate in a regional team approach to service delivery of the highest quality and manage customer relations through effective sales and marketing campaigns.

 

About you:

  • Experience in a similar capacity within the outdoor recreation or related industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coordinate staff teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and comprehensive financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated strategies of achieving and maintaining profitability.
  • High level in written communications, reporting, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Experience in negotiating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective relationship management and representation at Council, community, and other relevant forums.
  • Ability to travel within the designated region and within NSW as required.
  • Valid NSW driver’s license
  • Current CPR and HLTAID0012 First Aid Certificate
  • Diploma in outdoor recreation/leadership or equivalent tertiary qualifications is highly desirable.

 

Given the unique nature of the Camp/ recreation industry, candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the Camp sites including some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays work as required.

Our Recreation Team is a close-knit community of energetic people-people, with a passion for staying active and helping others. From our Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers, to our Instructors and Coordinators, the team are responsible for transforming our 24 Recreation Centres into warm, inclusive and safe spaces – providing access to health, fitness and recreation opportunities for those who need it most.
