The Y NSW has been creating memories through outdoor education programs and camps for children, young people and community groups since 1937.

 

Camp Yarramundi is located on the heritage listed Grose River in the beautiful Hawkesbury Valley, set on 35 acres of natural bushland, Camp Yarramundi has the capacity to accommodate up to 260 people in a variety of cabins across the site.

 

The camp offers a range of adventure activities, including a high ropes adventure course, giant swing, flying fox, team building and artificial caving!

As a Senior Outdoor Education Instructor, you’ll be at the forefront of our camping programs, guiding young people through transformative outdoor experiences that build confidence, connection and courage.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Facilitate adventure activities and camp programs that are inclusive, safe and values-driven.
  • Lead group briefings, debriefs and ensure every participant feels seen, heard and supported.
  • Champion our “challenge by choice” philosophy—encouraging growth through participation.
  • Support risk management, safety standards and continuous improvement.
  • Be a mentor to other instructors and a role model for young people.

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Strong group facilitation skills and a passion for working with diverse communities.
  • Current CPR, Bronze Medallion and HLTAID004 qualifications.
  • Experience in outdoor education or recreation (bonus if you’ve got Cert III or High Ropes Supervisor accreditation).
  • A positive attitude, great communication skills and a love for the outdoors.
